JAPANESE SPEECH CONTEST 2009

California State University, Los Angeles, will be hosting a Japanese Speech Contest from 1:30 pm until 4:00 pm on Saturday, February 28, 2009, at CSULA.

The contestants should be non-native speakers of Japanese and current students of the Japanese language at high schools, two-year colleges, and universities, who has not lived in Japan for more than two consecutive years after the age of 6.

Each contstant will speak on a topic of his or her choice, and the time limit of the speech will be 7 minutes.

The selection of 25 contestants will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Applications will be accepted until the limit of 25 is reached. Prizes include gift certificates redeemable at Kinokuniya Bookstore. Additional prizes are contingent upon funding.
